Dr. Dennis Flanagan is a highly respected dentist based at Flanagan Dental in Mystic, Connecticut, where he practices full-time. With over 30 years of experience in the dental field, Dr. Flanagan was previously the managing partner of a successful two-location general dental practice serving 15,000 patients and employing 37 staff members.

Dr. Flanagan is a Diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. His expertise in implant dentistry has earned him recognition as an Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Diplomate/Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Dentistry.

An esteemed educator and researcher, Dr. Flanagan has contributed over 140 articles to the field of dentistry and holds 8 U.S. patents for medical and dental devices. He has made numerous presentations at both national and international dental conferences, sharing his insights and knowledge.

Dr. Flanagan’s service to the dental community extends to his role as an Attending Dentist for the U.S. Olympic Committee and his past leadership as Chief of Dentistry at Windham Community Memorial Hospital, where he served for more than 8 years. His involvement with the dental profession also includes his work as a senior associate editor for the Journal of Oral Implantology and his position as editor of the AAID News.

A Georgetown University School of Dentistry graduate, Dr. Flanagan has furthered his education with a certificate in Oral Implantology from Harvard University Dental School and a Master’s degree in Oral Implantology from Goethe Medical University in Frankfurt, Germany. He is a tenured associate professor of dental medicine at Lugano University in Switzerland and Malta, as well as an adjunct professor and Clinical Site Director at Jacksonville University.

Having surgically placed and restored more than 15,000 dental implants, Dr. Flanagan is known for his exceptional skills and dedication to advancing the practice of implant dentistry. His contributions to the field, both clinically and academically, have made a lasting impact on the profession.
